557 ratings | 111530 views
Far Cry 5 - All Endings (Resist, Walk Away & Secret Ending) All game endings in Far Cry 5. There are 3 endings in Far Cry 5. The first can be found in the prologue, simply do not put the cuffs on Joseph at the start. The last two are the "Walk Away" and "Resist" ending options at the end of the game. If you pick the Walk Away Ending, the mission will stay on the map still for you to replay. If you choose resist, you cannot replay the last mission. All that you sacrifice in this game to get to joseph is really for nothing.Cuz bot endings will end bad.Like wtf. There should always be a good ending and bad ending
ehkido (4 days ago)
Honestly I dig the Resist Ending because then you and Joseph would just be stuck down there forever. Meaning that you’ve actually tried, sacrificed everything and also defeated Joseph because hope county is abolished. So therefore Joseph can not rebuild his cult again. Because you know WW3 has already begun and everything is being nuked around the world. Joseph is pretty dumb just saving Rook because Rook would understand that he actually won.

I’m so happy I’m not the only one who thinks this games ending sucked something awful really the game it’s self is way to short the makers should have done better they only had 2 years to get it right then some dick fucked us remorselessly with the end

Who the hell is nuking Montana of all places, and why multiple times? They're not using those other nukes for the places that would actually be realistically be nuked like Vegas, DC, or Seattle?
JakesNew Jump22 (15 days ago)
I honestly instantly regretted the result ending, I came here to walk away and get a second chance. Remember he forgives
This all endings are shit 💩 and game too.. because farcry 5 no continue to farcry 6 😭

Farcry 5 A musicbox and the song "only you" hurts you. the villians can now magicly teleport you from one place to another and can now communicate with you via telepathy. The villains can bring you to other dimensions. Joseph Seed can't die (I know, I emptied a fully loaded light machinegun and a magnum 44 in him and he still walked away without a scratch afterwards (yeah, you try and explain that, because I sure as hell can't)... But when Jacob could hurt you by playing "only you" I nearly pulled the plug on the game... But when Faith became the floating exorcist, I lost any hope of this game redeeming itself, it became so utter nonsense, it was pretty much laughably awful.

The walk away ending looks the most fitting one, we don't usually see walk away endings in any game, however hero had a giod deal to stop the killing and sound like a preferred option when turns out the father can easily control all the friends. Better options than what jackal given in FR2
Heso Meso (5 days ago)

James Hilliard (24 days ago)
There's a Resist way, walk away, and the secret ending. In a "free to make your own decisions" game it should've let you do it in a 4th way. My way would've been pretty much what would Frank Castle do. Shoot all the MF's right in the head there in the beginning at the church.

Anyone else notice then end credits sequence? Prolly 3000 people help make this game...you'd think one or two would object to that bullshit final boss battle.
Nicole S (28 days ago)
Make plans for a sequel ok, but dont make an A+ gaming experience end in such a shit way. Pretty sure 300 rounds of ammo and 50 grenades to the face would kill even Thanos. I hate when I play a game based mostly in reality all to have it fall apart in the final seconds. Its JUST FUCKING LAZY!

What if after the ending you are playing in a forever bliss trans and you are stuck fighting peggies forever as punishment. The world is nuked but you hallucinate the old world because the nuke carried bliss with it and joseph made you stay in "the past" if you get what i'm saying. And the one where the song plays is just a trans your in as well

Colton Lee (1 month ago)
My main beef is that we never got an option to kill the Father at the end. That guy has an incredibly "shoot-able" face and we never get to put a bullet in it. It might be worth it to end the world if we could just shut that rambling lunatic up.

Ok people, it appears there is a large amount of imagination lacking, and a disgusting addiction to melodramatically 'good' story endings, so here, have the truth of Joseph Seed: Joseph Seed is a genius, and a madman. He had 3 nuke silos partially excavated and re-purposed for his "family," and his dark secret is that he is not really a prophet; he is a manipulator with a Savior complex. Each silo given to his "children," Jacob, John, and Faith, used to have a nuke in them; however, he had them removed and placed elsewhere. Why? Well, the collapse was never really coming. Every end of the world prediction has failed. Without a cataclysm driving his people toward him, he knew he would lose power. So he planted those nukes, and rigged them to explode at his command, all so he could continue pretending that he was hearing a voice that was telling him of the future. The Seed family is predisposed to middle-aged onset schizophrenia. That's what caused his father to become psychotically unstable and violent, which lead to the Seed family being split up and Joseph being sent through a terrible foster system. Joseph suffered in his childhood, but his mind coped through an early-onset, but mild form of schizophrenia that he inherited from his father. This condition manifested in the form of the voice, as well as psychotic tendencies. Joseph became who he thought he should become -- a self-fulfilling prophet; a twisted Oedipus. He is a genius: he set up the nuclear explosions with intention of "proving" to his people that he was right, and willingly caused an unknown amount of death and chaos with those warheads, and mostly for nothing, too! He was a madman: he was not the first person to fail to predict the end of the world, but he was the first to try to force it to end in order to save his own pride. Alas, he couldn't foresee how the world would respond to the news of three nuclear explosions, localized in, and near, a small valley in Montana. The world would look at this and say, "What the hell happened there?" and then scramble to support environmental stability against the fallout, and further damage control physically, economically, and politically. Three nukes went off, as a desperate attempt to maintain the facade of prophet. Joseph Seed's entire plan seemingly a success when viewed from the inside, but in reality it was all in vain -- the collapse was a hoax. The rest of the world was not at war. There were only three nukes. Three nukes very closely detonated together, chronologically, and geographically. Those are very unlikely and unrealistic locations for real-world nuclear attacks by a foreign power. It only seemed like the world was ending. Because it was just a project, a "Project" designed by an intelligent, tortured person, to satisfy his unconscious craving for power and cope with his attachment issues. A project that was merely the product of a madman's ability to manipulate others. Nice try, Mr. Seed, but you failed. Look how far you went to try to keep it all together. Look at what your pride has driven you to do. You could have simply accepted arrest and stand on trial, and instead you jeopardized the world to satisfy your hubris. All you have done is erased Hope County from existence, but cemented it in history as the first and only place to be struck by nuclear explosions, and you killed everyone except yourself and one seriously traumatized federal agent. There is no bright future for you. There would be no march to the gates of Eden. The Project is a failure.

I had about the same interpretation. There is really nothing that supports anything else. If you opt in to believe in the prophet, you can of course end up with another kind of conclusion.
Yiannis Kouros (2 months ago)
I like this interpretation although I'd bet the writers didn't think that creatively and just wanted to make a wacky "twist" ending to piss everyone off or, as they like to call it, "generate discussion". Another point: Hope County actually would be a good target for nukes -because- it has the 3 nuclear silos. Silos are a primary target in the case of a mass nuclear retaliation, and the 3 detonations on each bunker would make sense in an actual nuclear war scenario.

Here is my one and only question concerning the ending for this game. Why isn't it an option to just shoot the bastard the first chance you get near the end there? Before he brings everyone out and when you're just arriving. Cause at this point arresting the guy has to be the dumbest idea anyone in this situation could have. After, you know, killing how many of the cult to get to this one guy. Hell, it can still be a depressing ending by having those under mind control shoot the deputies. That can work because at the very least I could kill the smug fuck. Seriously, so many problems in this could've been solved if the player had half a brain during cutcense and just start killing.

Rahul Sridhar If an early exit was your only option you'd have a point but there's 2 other choices the game encourages you to pick. I'm just saying having realistic options is a good balance. What they should have did with the early scene or the walk away one at the end, was continue the story where you get reinforcements for a good ending
Rahul Sridhar (2 months ago)

BowTie 8 Bit Why the fuck did you spend all that time writing that
BowTie 8 Bit (2 months ago)
Ok, here's one of my attempts to change your mind: Far Cry 5 is a Theatrical Tragedy, intentionally written to evoke, from the audience, the feeling of, "I don't like this, I don't like this, I don't like this." And it appears to have worked well because so many people feel the tragedy of the story, but are addicted to feeling gratified or justified by "good always wins in the end," stories. It is a tragedy in each act, and a tragedy through and through, on purpose. Joseph Seed is a genius, and a madman. Well now that I played the e game and all that I accidentally chose the wrong one and it made me real pissed but now I know how the endings are ik there all shit.
BowTie 8 Bit (2 months ago)
I disagree - this story is a tragedy, on purpose. How is it that so many people want nothing but "hero always wins over evil," stories? It's a tragic story and it's done very well. The goal was to make you feel, "I don't like this, I don't like this, I don't like this," and I can guess from your reaction that it worked.
Jonathan Mercado (2 months ago)
I like the message of walking away. Was it worth it?
TheLonelyDinosaur (2 months ago)
I'm gonna go ahead and give my theories for the 3 endings of the game. Keep in mind none of this is confirmed and these are just my ideas. Resist - The first nukes were the missing ones from the 3 bunkers. If you watch closely, there are only 3 detonations and there aren't any missiles or bombers, so its likely that they were buried and detonated by Joseph. He basically starts the nuclear war, hence the emergency broadcast being played as soon as you reach Dutch's bunker, which is after the first nukes. Walk Away - So you get in the car and drive off. All seems well until the brainwash song plays. Keep in mind Joseph hypnotized all your friends so the DJ of the radio station and got him to play the song. The purpose of this is to get revenge after you killed his family, and make it so that you kill your family (friends). Secret Ending - Basically, instead of arresting Joseph you just leave. This basically means nothing bad happens, no "reaping" , no nukes and nobody dies at all. So in other words, this is the best ending.
Nick F. (26 days ago)
Question - is using the Bliss part of the reaping only, or is this already happening in the cult? And people like The Cook and his sadistic torture of people? If all of this only happens because of the reaping, then yes, the secret ending is the good one.
Moist Nuggeteer (2 months ago)
It actually makes perfect sense for the nukes to hit Montana. A large amount of the nuclear silos in America are in the Midwest and in the event of a nuclear war, they would be targets just like Washington D.C.
BowTie 8 Bit (2 months ago)
The Dakota's are the nuke zone, not Montana. Joseph Seed nuked Montana, because of his own Pride - the "Project" was "lets get our own society together, and then nuke the area we live in, so we can have a collapse."
Bursalı Bey (2 months ago)

BowTie 8 Bit (2 months ago)
In the past, playwrights wrote stories that were designed to evoke certain emotions from the audience. The stronger the emotional reaction, the more it was recognized as being well done. The writers and designers of this game are doing just that with their gaming audience - bringing an element of Theatrical Tragedy to the next generation, whom isn't going to the theater. The story evokes the opposite of, "I feel good about the was this story ends," on purpose, and it is masterfully executed.
w Thompson (2 months ago)
Loved it! I made war on everyone! The good the bad and the innocent! Kill'em all that's what Ouija said!
Some Guy (2 months ago)
So the main ending/resist ending is "Fuck you, you should have let the kidnapper/murder/torturer/brainwasher keep doing what he was doing, because God or some shit." The walk away ending is "Hey, letting that guy keep doing what he was doing still ends up being a bad move." And the secret ending is "Hey, remember that thing we did in Farcry 4? Well we're doing it again, just because. It doesn't really mean anything, and it's completely out of character, but whatevs." So the morals of the story are, everything you do means nothing, torture people to make them agree with you, and believe every lunatic who tells you that God talks to them, that the world is ending, and you need to be part of their cult or suffer.

My theory is that by blowing up the bunkers, they mentioned the father "predicted" your actions, that perhaps it was you that caused the collapse. Maybe there was a fail-safe nuclear launch? A rig to destroy everything in a final attempt to defeat the enemy if Montana were nuked/invaded. I enjoyed the ending.
Josh Frerichs (3 months ago)
Every ending sucked
Noah Davies (1 month ago)
What are you on ? " Theatrical Tragedy", "Art" ? lmao.
gunnar bucher (2 months ago)
It's not that the endings weren't happy. it's that they suck from a coherency standpoint. Most of this game had a huge problem with the "Oh, by the way we magically drugged all your companions in their bases and now you can't do anything to stop this bad thing from happening." there was just to many things always coming out of left field to screw the player over for these endings to feel real. a good tragedy has to be the unforeseen result of the players actions, not a Literal Deus ex machina.
BowTie 8 Bit (2 months ago)
I vehemently disagree. I believe people are too addicted to 'good' endings, and also can't appreciate great Theatrical Tragedy, and Art. This game could be called, "The Tragedy of Joseph Seed." It's Art, and it's masterfully done.

There's apparently a lot of little hints leading up to it in the background (I only found one broadcast) that hints that there's a huge cold war between russia and the US, and someone trips it at the end, causing the nukes to fly. More than likely, Seed had patsies outside of Hope County (Remember "Nancy" from the intro?) who pushed for the war to happen as soon as he knew you were coming for him.

Why do I like the secret ending the most? The others aren't satisfying to me in the way I'd want to keep all the non cultists alive and animals, and kill Joseph and the gang, all that effort to not even kill him. At least with the secret ending it's pretty clever and a huge foreshadow to how it plays out for them if they stay, dead by nukes or killed by our brainwashed asses. Also I just can't stand Boomer, Cheeseburger, or Peaches dying.

Huh? The 'nuke' version is good because it was just 'bliss'... all friends and the whole game world are alive and happy after the 'credit' screen... :)

Aegix Drakan I agree. Myself? I definitely would have nailed the crazy cultist in the head with my sidearm and ran to the truck.
Aegix Drakan (3 months ago)
...Yeah, ok, that makes sense. Headcanon now. I was fine with the other brutal endings too, minus "why the hell did we take the insane cultist leader with us in the car?" and the fact you never get to rub Seed's bullshit in his face (all the other evil crap he did CANNOT be freakin' justified, and in fact led to people fighting his cult and blowing up his bunkers). But this makes me a little happier.

Sometimes it best to walk away, and this was one of them. Never expected a princess ending but this was brutal.

I am not gonna say I thoroughly enjoy any of the endings. As the first and second ones leads to ultimate destruction, and assumed death of all your friends, all that time, all that character development and relationship building, all the planning, the choices you made, leading you to darker paths, which seemingly had no redemption for you. But you persevered knowing you could make a difference, if not redeem Yourself, perhaps by liberating the persecuted and the innocent, you could bring some sort of resolution to this madness, you had to! You just had to.. What else were you gonna do? But.. But no. No, nothing you did, Not one choice you made culminated in some semblance of sanity. NOTHING YOU DID made an iota of a difference. All the sweat, tears and bloodshed... All for Nothing!? Fade to black. Black as the sin that now consumes you and all you held dear. Damn those writers! This was the most beautiful, gut wrenching, sadistic, seriously fun, exhilarating narrative driven masterpiece, that delivered so much promise, only to well and truly fuck us in the worst way possible, leaving us with a very unsavoury taste in our mouths for all our trouble. If you can't tell.., This was my way of saying: I Loved Every Minute Of It!!!

I did enjoy the ending and the fact that both of them were fucking brutal... My only regret is that I never got to rub Joseph Seed's bullshit in his face. "Yeah, you were right about the collapse. But you were wrong about everything else. If it weren't for the kidnapping, the drugs, and then the sin-based flesh-ripping, the military brainwashing and murder of anyone not deemed "strong", the brain-dead drug slaves and the multiple murders...None of your people would have died. Your bunkers would have remained unbreached and you've have been able to ride out the collapse just fine. I'm just the bullet. You and your family are the ones that pulled the trigger." That and...Why the hell did they take Seed in the goddamn truck on the Resist ending anyway? I was like "Why the fuck are we taking him with us?! Why not Grace, or Nick, or freakin' Boomer, or just not taking the evil and completely insane mastermind with us?!"

arsenzocht I realise that. Did you not see the End of the Rant? This was sort of a sarcastic jab at those complaining about the "lame" Ending. A reverse criticism if you will. I for one, thoroughly enjoyed the ride! The end makes perfect sense, it had all the right ingredients, and the signs pointing to the inevitable End--were everywhere! Radio transmissions, the narrative-driven clues that The Father left you with, each time you'd confront him. I guess not everyone pays attention to those.. Anyways, I am calm. I have always been and will continue to be, a loyal Far Cry Fan!

I've got a question not regarding the story. It is: whats that "bracelet" called on Joseph Seeds arm? I believe its his left arm/hand
TheGleely (3 months ago)
that's a rosary you schmuck
Cosmic Wanderer (3 months ago)
Milos M I think it's simply a leather piece strap, that's wrapped around his wrist tightly, signifying he's "bound" to his unwaivering Faith. It's a symbol if you will. I saw a similar leather wrist strap with a frayed tassel, at a black market once. You could simply get a beautiful piece of leather strap and simply fray the ends with a very sharp knife, try to replicate the look Joseph Seed went for. But it looks kinda painful, how he wrapped his wrist so tightly, if you ask me. Guess you gotta have a Strong Faith! Lol
