I have the Shield Armor you get from the long quest chain/Powercell hunt. Is this Shield armor not more powerful than any other armor available currently..?? even with 4 mod slots and slotted with best mods? Are you not better off just playing the game with the shield armor? Just curious... because I have been selling ALL of my outfit Mods.
You know, this was a damn well developed game. Beautiful to look at, completely enjoyable and never got bored. However, once I beat it and did everything, besides knocking over every Banuk figure, I haven't booted it back up. I'm thinking it will be a fun one to go back to after I have a break from it. I still give it a 10/10 for the game itself. When you add in replay-ability (which I don't think should negatively impact a score) it would be a 9/10. My main concern was being able to get all the skills. That's what I think took away from its replay ability to me.
Nonetheless, love the game, and appreciate you keeping us updated.
Stratton Bek My console has froze many times because I play hardcore. arrows, traps and bombs going off at once. The game would simply freeze everytime i fought a thunderjaw if they made it harder because i would take the game to the next level. How many times during a 11-14 machine battle has your console froze up losing valuable time? (its not my consoles fault, i freeze my friends consoles too and they just stare at me lmao)
Continuation of what we already have, but with more impactful choices in the main missions and side missions. More deathly machines, mysteries you find after completing the game and a ton of replayable content.
I've killed over 200 stormbirds and 300 thunderjaws and only got a single 50% damage coil thus far (used on the hunter bow of course). Seems like those might have gotten even rarer after one of the latest patches.
also, I think GG should consider a patch that let the biggest machines fight each other (the possibilty of luring them to each other instead of being restricted to a specific area).
Phil Robertson hahaha Ciri XD...Yes i would also choose Nil (I didn't kill him btw) however...If the choice of charachter would change the combat style...I'd choose sylens. because if his combat had to be different than that of Aloy's, i think his would be alot more stealth/strategic and his override powers would be alot more expanded and powerful. Same goes for his use of the focus...I also think It would be cool to have each charachter have some unique weapons of their own.
on another note... Im guessing you have played Witcher 3... I heard it's very good...but i feel like i can trust your opinion...do you recommed it? and if so...would please explain why it's as good as people claim it to be? pros, cons, etc. I'd be very thankfull. :)
Kasra .B - I think Elisabet wore an environmental (Hazmat) suit, not the Shield Weave. Now, if GG added an area that required one??? Lets say a place you needed to go where they had dropped a nuke to stop the swarm? I would think the bulk of the suit would affect Aloy's movement but that could be worked into the arena where its used. Otherwise, it would make a cool wearable-collectable item.
I don't do much on the co-op side of games. When I play Dark Souls (x) I usually play offline. However, if I had to choose one though, hmmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm, Ciri? (Opps, wrong game LOL). I guess maybe Nil. He's a loner and has a neat backstory. Of course, if you kill him he's not available.
Phil Robertson Yes like you said, making the "pick up" machine weapons have limited ammo or limited time is a necessity. I also really liked your idea about a weapon with a long range scope because we haven't seen that in the game yet! And yes the one shot launcher idea is pretty interesting but I honestly wouldn't think of it as a must have because it would already take quite the time to kill off the machine who possess it just to then maybe kill off a herd of or a giant machine that you'd HAVE to get 100% accuracy or it would all be for nothing...I like the idea, its just that i dont think it would be that practical.
I totally agree with you on the whole "custom" mods for wespons and armour as long as GG balances it out so people don't abuse it (like you said, lower the stats compared to machine collected mods).
As for the armour. YES. ABSOLUTELY. I'm dying for new outfits...or if they don't have enough time to creat whole new outfits with their own ability and resistance...then they should add skins to the already existing ones until they make actual new armour ( I see so many beautiful armour plates hanging around in the cities or villages or forges, etc. and i just wished they were actually in the game!!!)
One thing that I've always wanted is (hear me out now) for GG to give players the choice to wear the Shield Weave Armour as it was shown on It's stand before you equip it and as it was shown on Elizabeth Sobeck! It might sound odd because it would go againt the whole tribal ancient type outfits and clothing but just imagine it...You as a player being able to wear a fully suited armour with the helmet and everything roaming around...It would feel absolutely amazing...and it would be a perfect end-game reward because it would make you look like you are now a part of the machines and as if you're one with them. You would feel like you are truely the master of all these machines and well kinda superiour to all other characters in the game! what do you think?
and for my next question: If there ever was a co-op mode in HZD (just imagine), who do you think is the best choice for a playable companion of Aloy from the people we've already met in the game?
Kasra .B - Thanks, I'm enjoying this too. Your questions make me think about things related to the game and do some research so I can give you my best possible answers :)
Actually, I think Aloy's weapons are about right for the games balance. If they started adding guns that Aloy could carry all the time it would (IMHO) break the game. (Throwable spears or knives, with or without effects, might be OK.) Shooting machine weapons off to use against machines works because its temporary and because the ammo limit controls their usefulness. Sure, you can slow walk a "disk launcher" to use against a machine in another area, but first you need to kill the Thunderjaw. I really liked your idea of some form of temporary overpowered melee weapon ripped from a machine but again, it has to be temporary. They could easily duplicate what already exists but call them by another name (Oliphant Cannon for a elephant type machines cannon etc.) but functionally it would be similar to a Disc Launcher or a Ravager Gun. Of course they could always add a scoped distance weapon. You kill the machine that has one to use against another machine nearby. Or maybe a (Fallout 4 style) mini-nuke that has one-shot but takes out large numbers of machines at once or massive damage to one large machine (don't miss or its a wasted shot).
What I would like to see is a way of creating my own mods. The way I would imagine it is the ability to add up to 3 effects (skill based?).
In one version (of thought) Effect 1 would be the primary and the highest percentage, effect 2 would be a lower percent (1/2?), and effect 3 even less (1/2 of #2?).
In a second version all 3 effects could be equal. They could add a randomized variable too so you don't always get the same amount per effect and effect position. (40% +/- 10% then 20% +/- 5% then 10% +/- 2%) or (all 30% +/-10% applied separately to each so you could end up with 40%, 20%, and 35% for instance).
[The examples I used are for weapons, armor is applied differently and use lower numbers but the general ideas are the same.]
However, and I think this is important, created mods (in type 1) primary effect max should be less than mods retrieved from machines while mods (in type 2) would be even lower power than type 1. That keeps finding machine mods valuable and limits overpowering Aloy's weapons and armor.
I'd also like to see armor that we players could create. Currently, they have specific base damage resists. I'd like to make my own (or have GG expand the possibles available). For instance; a melee + ranged that we can also boost using mods or a lighting + melee + cold that again we can mod as we like. I know we can do this to some degree now, but I'd like to have a better set of base values to start with that I have some control over which is applied
Separately, but along with the whole armor idea, I'd love to see more variations in colors. I don't think GG has to go wild and add mix-n-match (although, this may be a way to mix up base resists). Just more color and variation.
Mainly though, we need more "stuff" to do. Large and small they need to add tons of content in the way of quests, random encounters, and just stuff to run into accidentally (preferably somewhat randomly located). Bethesda does this very well, GG needs to take their cue from them (but in their own way). They did a GREAT job with bugs. Compared to Bethesda's games (and The Witcher 3) HZD was bug free.
I don't want them to mess with Aloy's combat (unless they add "easy" combo's). Bethesda's is boring, Dark Souls is complicated and deadly, TW3 is OK, but I prefer what GG did.
The next best thing is to save *before buying* a bunch of boxes (I normally get between 8-32), then open them all, taking care to note which number box has a mod you want (if you even get a good one). Then reload, and only buy a number of boxes *up to the one* with the mods you want. If you open no good mods you can just reload and go kill some stormbirds or whatever for a few mins to reset the cache, and then try again.
Tromaxer I tried buying 50 of these purple boxes. I saved the game and opened the boxes. Then loaded the save file again to reopen/reroll the boxes but I get the same exact sets of mods everytime. Can't outsmart Guerilla Devs, damn it!😆
Yo. I'm Man_named_Crasp from the Jorraptors community. I'm not the same person as X2Rising, although I did also have a Handling+Damage mod but didn't post it because I don't think it's that useful. I've heard about 68% handling mods but I've never seen a real screenshot.
Similar story here. I think the caps are indeed 67 for handling, 50 for damage/tear and elemntal coils, 33 for elemental weaves,, 20 for ranged/melee weaves, and yup, 15 for stealth. Secondary stats are about half of what they would be as a primary stat, and tertiary stats are about one third of what they would be as a primary stat.
