This is my official movieversion of the FPS-RPG-game Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut, developed by Eidos Montréal.
Please take a look at my movieversion of the Missing Link DLC, taking place right after the harbor bombing in Hengsha = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hThSZp3m8sk
Also, here is my movieversion of the sequel: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fQg7QVkxds
Deus Ex: Human Revolution, also known as Deus Ex 3 (DX3), is the third game in the Deus Ex series and a prequel to Deus Ex. It was developed by Eidos Montréal in co-production with Square Enix, who are responsible for pre-rendered movie sequences and published by them on August 23, 2011 for North America, August 25, 2011 for Australia and August 26, 2011 for Europe. The game's Japan release date (September 8) was pushed back for an October release.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a cyberpunk-inspired game and takes place during the year 2027, 25 years before Deus Ex and 45 years before Deus Ex: Invisible War. Nanotechnological augmentations have yet to be developed, and biomechanical augmentations are the current state of the art. The player's character, Adam Jensen (voiced and performance captured by Elias Toufexis), is a private security officer with Sarif Industries, a leading biotech company that specializes in human augmentations. After an attack on his company leaves him horrifically injured and forced to undergo augmentation to survive, "the conspiracy begins." The player travels to several locations over the course of the game: Detroit, Hengsha (a fictional city on Hengsha Island in the Yangtze River near Shanghai), Montreal, Singapore, and Panchaea, a facility in the Arctic Ocean. The storyline offers many different side-quests. They are all optional, but several of them add information to the overall story.
Human Revolution deals with the ethics of transhumanism, and carries an overarching message of humanity's reach exceeding its grasp. "Mankind is using mechanical augmentations," director Jean-François Dugas said before the game's release, "but there is still much to be determined in terms of their effect on society and the ultimate direction it will lead us in." The Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus appears in Adam Jensen's dreams as an allegory to this thought, and also - given that Daedalus was the name of an artificial intelligence in Deus Ex - an intellectual bridge to the original game.
HR is in second place only to original Deus EX in all the Deus Ex games. MD, would have to be third. I never played Invisible War. But yes, if only RoboCop followed this deep storyline. But it was made long before Deus Ex.
ok so this game was great, but what's the difference between this (and other many AA-AAA games like it) and Metal Gear Solid (MGS, MGS2, MGS3 especially)? The latter is just so much more memorable, due to (1) the eccentric villains and (2) Snake's conflicted relationship with them. I love both, but it just came to mind after watching the MGS gameplay movies and then this...
A great video, for a great game & thanks to you, an renewed desire to upgrade my pc, so I can open the package and play it for the first time. It's to bad the makers/programmers, didn't have the since to make their own movies, as a boost for their game sales, after all, Lucas films won big time doing it for their Star War Games & Movies.
Until then, please KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
This series dealt was about the Illuminati 16 years... before internet idiots like yourself made it mainstream. Within the context on the narrative it's far from lazy. At the end of the day Illuminati is a metaphor for the few people who hold unchecked power over the masses. If you can't grasp that maybe it isn't the writing that's lazy, but the person doing the "reading".
this is like the 10th time deus and 4 other people said illuminati this is what i thing this game is about the future when THEY CREATE THE CHIPS IN REAL LIFE THE CHIPS WILL BE CALLED THE MARK OF THE BEAST as so its says in Revelations the bible terms.
I sneaked past all of them going in and out of the invisible augmentation the puzzles also suck and are unnecessarily hard at times but the story is great and only realistic future game I can see exists they even have the Illuminati in the games.
Human Revolution was one of my favorite gaming experiences of the 2005-2013 generation.
#1 was the Mass Effect trilogy (yup not even Last of Us), especially 2 and 3 played back-to-back. The story and action were too good, I finished both in 10 days! Good thing I borrowed it from my awesome game-loaning library! Free AAA games, yo!
Those ending choices are repugnant.
This game is an insult the the original and a pathetic slavery hymn.
The correct solution is to merge with the AI, embrace evolution. As was originally an option before this franchise became just another training program for mindless 1% obedience.
How the hell did they name the character ADAM and not even give him the option of beginning a new era via a new species?
Brilliant lie, implying transhumanism means corporate control. As if someone has can have a patent on fire.
Suicide, refusal to make a real choice. Pathetic.
With a friendly AI as his ally he could choose any number of nuanced specific outcomes. And with that quantum computer he could have overseen the ethics of every choice at all scales personally.
If he doesn't feel capable of making the decision then obviously he should become capable when the option is in the room with him.
You're extrapolating too much and letting your own bias fill in the blanks (you clearly have a strong, controversial opinion). The choices were more as presented: luddhism and focus on class division, augment slavery and slowed augment evolution + status-quo rule by the 1%, augmented evolution and a small shift in the order of rule by the 1%, and indifference.
Endings seem pretty damn good to me, so I felt the need to defend them from "undeveloped wrongness" as you'd put it.
Thank you for all the work you put into this. You are the first to publish a movie version with the perfect ending choice. I made the same decision in the end and it just felt right. It still does. The perfect ending to a great experience. So thank you my good sir. I enjoyed rewatching this awesome game very much! :)
You are absolutely right, they are. ;) Nonetheless that particular choice is the most fitting one and not psychotic at all. To me, the whole game focuses on the question if man should play god and how to utilize and/or abuse this power in order to make mankind better. In this ending Adam puts it quite clearly that despite everything he saw he still trusts mankind to save itself and that he will not utilize his power to decide their fate. He is not sure if makind will prevail as they did so often in the past, but it is not up to him to decide that. This also applies to everyone in that station he is about to blow up. And for his believes he is willing to sacrifice his own life in order to stop those power-hungry despots he was fighting the whole time so that in the end mankind may find its way. Think of it what you will, but to me this still feels right ;) This game makes you think and there are a lot of right or wrong choices. or maybe there is not a right or wrong answer. Still a great game ;)
+kengami Yeah "perfect" choice, commit a suicide, kill a shitload of innocent people and waste everything you fought for.. you're a bit psychotic, aren't you. And for your information, all endings are (equally partially) canon :)
I've earned 100% achievements playing this game on my Xbox 360 ... At least I won't ever get tired of watching the full gameplay "movie" you made! Crazy how quick you beat it, I guess that's because you stuck solely to the storyline missions. This will always be one of my favorite games no matter what & the only 1 game from my 100+ Xbox360 game collection that I have 100% achievements on lol (this game was super easy)
thank you for this video, very well made. I've finished the game when it launched and finished again right after, but it's so long and there is do much things I do not remember. this is great to get prepared for mankind divided!
Um not correct. Being Human is about AI becoming human like in their thought processes and thinking. Cyborgs are humans that are heavily intergrated with machine, that they could possible be inhuman, or robots that are controled by a human brain that is programed and controlled by their "creators".
Agreed man, and unfortunately, a lot of them already have. They seem to think that the world, and world leaders, is much more organized and cooperative than it actually is.
Human beings are Tribal creatures, its how we evolved and it's extremely hard for our brains to incorporate a vast amount of people, especially people who are not at least mostly like us. They get too different from us(in various ways), even if its not necessarily bad differences, we freak out and start hating on each other and very possibly trying to kill each other. Seriously, its a miracle we managed to pull off this whole global industrial civilization thing at all...... and there's no guarantee that it will last forever.
Our technology has changed a lot, but we haven't. We are still Tribal creatures, its just now those tribes are a lot bigger, and instead of tribes, we call them Countries. And Corporations. And Races/Ethnicities. And Religions. And tons of Economic and Political and Philosophical groups etc..... I laugh when people who talk about the supposed N.W.O like that's something we could ever, actually, realistically, pull off.
Not even getting into how those individual Tribes that are not in power would act towards having to compromise and get along with those others that they don't even like. The people in power, can barely stand to smile through their teeth at each other and PRETEND that they actually give a shit about them, or don't really hate each other’s guts. Yeah there's corruption, oppression, extreme greed and brutality..... But it's not really in any organized form, and the people doing it are CONSTANTLY trying to one up each other.
So yeah, the world sucks..... but not in the way the Conspiracy Nuts think.
What conspiracy? In real life the U.S. government and most corporations involved with it would pull shit like this in the open where all could see. Hell, CBS would likely do a special report that everyone would ignore. No need for secret organizations when you can just openly lobby to make something not illegal anymore while an apathetic populace watches T.V. Actually I'm not even sure if the main plot in the game (use augments to shape people into whatever the corporations want) would actually be illegal in the United States anyway. Just write up a nice tidy EULA that no one but sycophants will bother to read Al-A-Microsoft Update Agreement and voila, you're done. No Illuminati needed. +Rubilacxe Thank you very much!
I think that the ending system in this game is BS. It's basically "pick your ending and THE END." I do prefer games like Mass Effect and The Witcher were your choices can have serious consequences later in the game, and with some that you can't predict their outcomes.
Which of the four endings do you prefer?
I know these are a lot of work...but might you consider a no-subtitle version? If someone can't understand english it is unlikely they can read it well either. The words distract a lot in a "movie" version.
+Zack Smith come on Zack, just Youtube search "how to save Malik" like we all did.
In short you have to kill everyone thats attacking you and her in a VERY short period of time, then she is able to repair her helicopter and she gets the hell out of there.
Wow I was sad how malik died but...I never played the game but I'm guessing there's an option of her living huh? I gotta admit I love this story and it really makes me think.... I can understand where he's coming from. He had to kill thousands of people to show human enhancement is wrong,we lose our humanity as a price. There might had been another way to prove this point...killing like that is wrong. But using this technology as long as its to save lives I'm fine with it. But it really feels like humans would abuse this power. Many times Adam has restrained himself and showed how at times he feels inhuman with this body. This game feels scary realistic.
