Heh. I've watched EVERY single Disney animated feature in this canon and NOTHING was left out of this list (anything post-2010 wasn't released yet when this video was made, so those didn't count then). Whether it was in my childhood or adulthood, it doesn't matter. I've seen them all! Disney shaped my childhood altogether and I haven't lost faith in them to this day. My only nitpick, DON'T bother with Home on the Range. I'd rather see them adapt George Orwell's Animal Farm than that poor excuse of a movie.
twist58 (2 years ago)
+Tony parra Netflix still has Atlantis, but The Black Cauldron is still the elusive one, unless you actually buy the DVD.
Tony parra (2 years ago)
+LeudyV. 266 I've never seen the Black Cauldron in my life, but I'm figuring out when to see it, same with Atlantis: The Lost Empire, I've never seen that movie either, and both movies went poorly in the box office.
twist58 (2 years ago)
+LeudyV. 266 Yes, most of the segments in Melody Time were great. IMO, Pecos Bill was kind of the weak one.
LeudyV. 266 (2 years ago)
+twist58 Okay, thank you, it's one of the few that I haven't seen. Is Melody Time good, it's the other left for me
twist58 (2 years ago)
+LeudyV. 266 Black Cauldron also used recycled animation that was from The Jungle Book, Fantasia, and even Tinker Bell cameoed in one scene. It had an impressive story and The Horned King was one of the most fearsome Disney villains that have been greatly snubbed. Dinosaur, Atlantis, Lilo & Stitch (I could go on forever). They each proved the analysts wrong that animated flicks that are PG-rated can be marketable (as long as the story and theme works).
Skits And Giggles (2 years ago)
WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! Why ins't my favorite Disney cartoon of all time not on this list!??! Can someone explain to me why A Goofy Movie (WALT DISNEYS PICTURES 1995) is not on here??? Im confused. Aladdin is my second favorite... just in case anyone was wondering. Answer the question!!
twist58 (2 years ago)
+Skitsn Giggs Indeed it is. It was never part of the canon to begin with is all.
Skits And Giggles (2 years ago)
+twist58 thank you. but it's still a Disney movie right?
twist58 (2 years ago)
+Skitsn Giggs Let me explain it to you: A Goofy Movie is part of a different animation division known as Disneytoon Studios (this is where films like Ducktales the Movie, Recess: School's Out, even Planes reside), therefore it doesn't count as part of the Disney animated features canon.

Nico Saliou (3 years ago)
Yeah I know it's a "Disney MovieToons" movie... But I enjoy this one so much...
MrIan113 (3 years ago)
I don't think that the Duck Tales movie was actually created in-house by Disney. A lot of Disney animated films were created by a sub-studio for direct-to-video release and seldom in-theatres like, for example, Cinderella 2 and or Tarzan 2. That's why those aren't on this list. Hope that helps! 😁

Dinosaur was one of my ultimate favorite Disney movies! I was 2 years old when it came out and I would watch it over and over 24/7 and that's all I ever wanted to watch. And after that I developed this 5 year long obsession with dinosaurs. I freakin loved my childhood!!!! Long live DISNEY!!!!

Winnie the Pooh is indeed the 51st
+Aaron Christie Yeah, which is why I said to do some research before you make statements. All's forgiven, though :)
+Aaron Christie Because Lasseter doesn't want it to get any attention because it bombed at the box office. Of course it hadn't premiered the same day as Harry Potter, that wouldn't have happened. The fact remains is that it was released by Walt Disney Animation Studios between Tangled (which is the 50th film) and Wreck it Ralph.
+Aaron Christie The DVDs are wrong. Winnie the Pooh was released under the Disney Animated Classics canon by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It was made in 2011, after Tangled, but before Wreck it Ralph. You're going to need to do some more research if you want to back up your argument because, in all honesty, the excuse regarding the DVDs is pretty good, but the DVDs are wrong. Winnie the Pooh is the 51st film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

In the 1990's Disney introduced a separate animated division called Disney Toon Studios which were actually in Australia for a number of years. Movies like A Goofy Movie, Ducktales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp, The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and The Tigger Movie were done there while the A grade features in this list were done at the Hollywood-Burbank studios.

I so love all of them :'). But my favourite is and will be The Little Mermaid forever <3
sonictoast (5 years ago)
Does a Goofy Movie not count? It was in theaters and everything.
srayj (5 years ago)
I agree. I loved both movies, but Princess and the Frog was so good, the music was top notch and really catchy but most of all I feel like it was a return to Disney's late '80s early '90s heyday when Beauty and the Beast (my favorite Disney movie) and the other movies right around that time, like Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Lion King came out and felt like instant classics. That is what Princess and the Frog felt like to me.
srayj (5 years ago)
I can relate. I just completed my collection last year and I now own all of these movies on DVD, though it wasn't easy. :o)
